Remembering

Remembering

as if remembering was enough
past morning when the last tea
had been drained from her cup
like the passion that washed over them
slowly then flood like
then gone left somewhere
between last night and her makeup mirror
perched delicately on the porcelain sink
her eyes masked in thought
wondering can this sort of thing last
remembering what her mother told her
when she as a child had become
heart of a soulless marriage
sometimes we live to explore
the fragrance of just one touch
