Look I am flying
I will remember this moment
the air brushing over my skin
and your laughter
mixing with my giggling
I am connected to all of the children
everywhere who take a moment
for the simple pleasures in life
marbles
kick the can
skelzies
tic-tac-toe
catch
they are a part of me
I feel them in my heart
hoping that they too
can have some easy pleasure
in their lives even amid
the things we children
do not need to see
right now I am loving
the ebb and flow of it
holding on to the chains
floating toward the sky
and then back to you smiling
I will remember this moment
the air brushing over my skin
and your laughter
mixing with my giggling
