MONUMENT VALLEY

MONUMENT VALLEY, originally uploaded by B I R D.

As for feeling small
among the wonders
strewn amid the valley floor
like toy boxes tipped on edge
the stuffing out here and there
and that lost among the speculation
of what is just a grand plan
made elsewhere some being
tossing debris from his napkin
and so on and so forth it goes
yet standing here humbled
agape and lost for words
I wonder is this slow decaying end
drenched by downpours and blown by wind
the fringes of the base no longer able to stand
and rocks like a thousand crumbs
tossed from higher or just slipped into place
return to earth where gravity calls down
with firm voice it is time
