Sunrise - Monument Valley

'Sunrise - Monument Valley' On Blackand L A R G E

It is dark
shapes loom all around
reaching out with primordial hands
thrust up in prayer
a thin belt of light
golden against turquoise
calls to the original ones
hidden in silhouette
dawning their red robes
dark matter explodes
a gash rips the sky
the cold lashes the plateau
for an instant only the wind roams
knowingly caressing
transforming buttes on the level of pebbles
and the gust steals back fire
from the departing night
and warm blankets modestly cover
the secrets of the old ones
