"We must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive. He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love. There is some good in the worst of us and some evil in the best of us."
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The thistle
bristles as it defends
keeping predators
from her flesh
with a look
doting the sides of roads
awkwardly attracting and repelling
the porcupine of plants
announces it self brilliantly
armed to the teeth
it waits transgression
confidently
but it never moves
from its place
makes no incursion
launches no attack
it's only offensive capability
is it's defense
all but the foolish
understands
its position
an acquiesces
