DIGNITY ~ NO DOUBT
The heart of the labor movement in the U.S. has been shifting more and more to the service sector. In 2004 I photographed striking hotel workers during the day and deep into the night. That conflict is heating up again and looks to be a long and bitter battle. If you have ever been on strike you know the gut wrenching feeling of seeing your last few dimes evaporate. I dedicate this Labor Day to those hard working, under paid hotel workers that we barely notice as they now take their own destiny into their hands. When you see them in the street, don’t just walk by ~ shake their hands.

From all of us who brought you the weekend, health and safety standards and a better standard of living relax but stay tuned this Labor Day there is much more in store!
